Before a normal delivery the following steps will be undertaken:

  • Once you are pregnant, You can consult your obstetrician with western hospital
  • A variety of scans will be undertaken and medications will be undertaken during
  • A date will be estimated for your delivery date
  • When you get labor pains, you should come to the hospital immediately
  • On admission a deposit will be paid to arrange the delivery
  • On admission a room of your choice will be provided with all supplies
  • A female medical officer will be assigned to you until delivery
  • The mother expecting the delivery will be prepared
  • If no complications are seen for the expectant mother than a normal delivery will be undertaken
  • Mother will be sent to the labor room for delivery
  • Generally admission will last 48 hours for a normal delivery
  • Baby will be given a mandatory BCG vaccination prior to discharge
  • On discharge the following will be provided:
    • a gift and picture of the baby
    • assistance for birth registration
    • discharge certificate
    • breastfeeding advice
    • a vaccination schedule

Before a C-section delivery the following steps will be undertaken:

  • Once you are pregnant, You can consult your obstetrician with western hospital
  • A variety of scans will be undertaken and medications will be undertaken during the labor period
  • A date will be pre planned for your delivery date
  • The consultant may ask you to prepare for the delivery (6 hours fasting and other)
  • In some instances a normal delivery may result in a C-Section according to the opinion of your obstetrician.
  • On admission a deposit will be paid to arrange the delivery.

Briefly this is what will happen in a c section delivery:

  • On admission a room of your choice will be provided with all supplies
  • A female medical officer will be assigned to you until delivery
  • The mother expecting the delivery will be prepared
  • Prior to the surgery the surgical team including the VOG, anesthetist, peadiatrician and other staff will be prepared for the C section procedure
  • Then the expectant mother will be sent to the operating theater for delivery
  • Generally admission will last 72-96 hours for a C section
  • Baby will be given a mandatory BCG vaccination prior to discharge
  • On discharge the following will be provided:
    • a gift and picture of the baby
    • assistance for birth registration
    • discharge certificate
    • breastfeeding advice
    • a vaccination schedule
