Laboratory services for Routine and specialized tests

Western Hospital’s laboratory offers a wide range of laboratory tests in Sri Lanka. The Lab is headed by an academic Pathologist, and run by efficient staff with over a decade of experience. Our laboratory professionals work closely with the medical staff at Western Hospital to provide excellent services to both hospitalized patients and outpatients. Our laboratory services are a vital component of quick and accurate diagnosis, and subsequent treatment. We are fully equipped to conduct a wide range of laboratory investigations that are important for patient care, such as routine blood, urine and other tests according to the needs of patients and consultants, which are carried out in a timely manner. We use reliable automated computerized analysers to conduct a majority of our tests, and place great importance in accuracy, precision, efficiency and speedy reporting, while ensuring high standards. Our general laboratory is open until 8 pm daily; however laboratory tests are available 24/7 for on call emergencies.

Western Hospital laboratory services now has a partnership with Metropolis Group to be an authorized collection center thus now nearly any test can be conducted by the laboratory. We have also collaborated with ISO accredited hospital laboratories such as Asiri Labs, Nawaloka, Nexus Care and Fortis to provide a wide range of highly specialized diagnostic services, and also work with Genetech Sri Lanka for a range of Molecular Biology diagnostics. In addition, we send special tests that are not available in Sri Lanka to accredited laboratories in India.
