Western Hospital Ties Up With DOC990 To Launches Its New Patient Appointment Live Tracking And Queue Management System In Its Stylishly Built Ultra-Modern New Channeling Wing

The Chief Guest Dr. Amal Harsha De Silva (Deputy Director General-Ministry of Health), Professor Rezvi Sheriff (Chairman Western Group of Companies) and Mr. Omar Sheriff (CEO Western Hospital) unveil the opening plaque at the new channel section opening on 17th August 2019

Western Hospital an ISO 9001:2015 QMS accredited hospital and the leader in Kidney Transplantation and dialysis have undertaken another new venture when it opened its stylishly designed new channel wing on the 17th of August 2019 in Western Hospital Borella.

The chief guest Dr Amal Harsha De Silva (DDG-MoH), Professor Rezvi Sheriff (Chairman Western Group of Companies) and many leading consultants from different specialties were present at the event. The new channel wing boasts of elegantly designed new channel rooms with all amenities required for consultants and comfortable waiting areas for patients alike designed by the interior designer Mrs. Zainab Ashraff.

In addition the new channel wing was opened with a new a technology which allows patient live tracking of appointments and which also helps patient visually see his appointment number in a live queue at the hospital. The queue management system is a collaboration between DOC990 and Western Hospital to improve convenience and to reduce or eliminate the patient waiting times problem in Sri Lankan hospitals.

Patients can make appointments at Western Hospitals through several modes such as calling Western Hospitals directly (0112-685413) or calling 990 or via the DOC990 website or mobile application. Once an appointment is made, patients will receive a SMS inclusive of a web link, which will provide details relating to the doctor’s Expected Time of Arrival (ETA), the start of consultations, the number of consultations available for the day, the number of the ongoing consultation and many other features that benefits both the consultant and patient alike.

During the event many officials of the Western Hospital was awarded for their active service. The CEO Mr. Omar Sheriff and Deputy Director Mrs. Ameena Sheriff were awarded for project coordination and marketing. In addition the hospital became the pioneer hospital in Sri Lanka to adopt the Dialog Genie Fintech Application. Western Hospital hopes to move in to more technological innovations in the future to improve its service to its customers and improve its overall service delivery in the future.
